メディアアートの祭典「アルスエレクトロニカ」で、Dentsu Lab Tokyo、NTT、WITH ALSが行うパフォーマンス「Project Humanity」に映像演出として参加した
「Project Humanity」は、Dentsu Lab Tokyo, NTT, WITH ALSによる共同プロジェクトです。アルスエレクトロニカでは、難病ALS共生者でDJでもあるWITH ALS代表の武藤将胤さんが身体に筋電センサーを装着し、自身の微細な筋活動から生体情報を得ることで、メタバース上のアバターをリアルタイムで操作。東京からリモートでアルスエレクトロニカの会場を繋ぎ、ライブパフォーマンスを披露しました。
私はライブパフォーマンスパートのオープニング映像の演出・制作を担当。また、DJパフォーマンスが行われるメタバース空間のビジュアルストーリーテリングとアートディレクションを担当しました。
「Project Humanity」チームによる、筋電センサーでアバターをコントロールする世界初の試みとなりました。

Project Humanity" is a joint project by Dentsu Lab Tokyo, NTT, and WITH ALS. At Ars Electronica, WITH ALS representative Masatane Muto, an intractable ALS symbiote and DJ, wears myoelectric sensors on his body and obtains biometric information from his own minute muscle activity to control his avatar in the metaverse in real time. The live performance was performed remotely from Tokyo, connecting the Ars Electronica venues.
I was in charge of the direction and production of the opening video for the live performance part. I was also in charge of visual storytelling and art direction for the metaverse space where the DJ performance took place.
This was the world's first attempt by the "Project Humanity" team to control avatars with myoelectric sensors.
